St. Jude's Sock Project Update
Thank You for Donating Fleeces!
Many thanks to the amazingly generous alpaca owners who donated their lovely alpaca fleeces to the
St Jude's Sock Project.  Georgia Mountain Fiber has spun  the yarn for us - at no cost! Cathy Connor
is working out pattern details for felted slippers and will be dyeing and packaging yarn for all
volunteers who would like to knit soft, warm, colorful slippers for seriously ill children.

If anyone is interested in knitting a pair(s) of slippers for the cause, please e-mail Cathy
Connor McKenny at
connorcatherine@hotmail.com.

For those of you who are not familiar with St Jude's, here is a quick summary from their website,
www.stjude.org:  “St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is one of
the world's premier centers for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children, primarily
pediatric cancers.  The mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is to find cures for children
with catastrophic diseases through research and treatment…All patients accepted for treatment at St.
Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay.”
